Gameweek 2 Review
Bees sting the Devil:
Brentford produced a shock result at the weekend battering Manchester United 4-0 with goals from Dasilva, Jensen, Mee and Mbuemo. Man United only had themselves to blame with many defensive mistakes but the standout players were:-
- Ben Mee (1 Goal + Clean sheet)
- Mathias Jensen (1 Goal + 1 Assist)
- David Raya (Clean Sheet + 4 saves)
- Ivan Toney (2 Assists + MOTM)
Rodrigo Runs Riot:
Rodrigo grabbed both goals in Leeds 2-2 draw with Southampton at St Mary’s. The Spanish international produced a MOTM performance with 81% pass accuracy, 1.3 XG and 75% shot accuracy. With 15 FPL points from the weekend, he has the most points in FPL so far this season (22)!
Goals for Gabriel:
(As I tipped off last week) Gabriel Jesus came out swinging on his home debut in Arsenal’s 4-2 victory over Leicester city with Jesus getting 2 goals and 2 assists as he racked up 19 points in GW2. Xhaka and Martinelli were also on target for the gunners as they jumped to 2nd in the league behind Man City
Now for a look at Gameweek 3
Liverpool face Man United on Monday night football and although both teams are yet to win in their opening 2 games Liverpool are still far superior favourites going into the game. Man United have been poor in the first 2 games so I think going with a Liverpool triple may be a shout for th upcoming game. (Salah, Trent, Robertson) or (Salah, Trent, Diaz) are the 2 potential triple’s managers may go for.
If you haven't used it already, now is the time to use your triple captain!
Gabriel Jesus and Mo Salah are my 2 picks if you are thinking of playing your Triple captain. Gabriel Jesus has just come off of a 19 point game against Leicester and they play Bournemouth this weekend. Personally I think Jesus will be on the scoresheet again (maybe twice) so he is a solid shout for TC.
As I’ve said previously, Salah and Liverpool face Man United this weekend and last season the Egyptian scored 35 points against Man United so he is another safe bet heading into the weekend!
Does KDB get a chance:
So far this season KDB has been overlooked by many FPL Managers due to many factors including Haaland, Cancelo, Foden and Ederson been most gaffers City picks. That said; last week De Bruyne showed everyone what he is capable of by bagging a goal and an assist in Man City’s 4-0 win over the cherries, so how many people are going to transfer in the Belgian this week?
