Hello everyone I’m FPL_Robbo and this is my 6th FPL season and I love every gameweek of it. I'm a big Man Utd fan but heading into my 3rd season with a Hartlepool season ticket! Here's some tips ahead of the first few gameweeks of the season.
Tip 1: Most needed player: Mo Salah.
Despite Gabriel Jesus becoming the most owned player in FPL history this week peoples eyes are still focused on Mo Salah as they know what he can produce.
I know most of you will have the Egyptian King in your fantasy teams but I recommend you captain him especially for gameweeks 1,2 and 3 as Liverpool face Fulham and Crystal Palace and Man United.
In the league last season Salah scored against Palace and against Man United bagged 5 goals and 2 assists in the 2 league meeting which is 35 points. That was just over 10% of his total FPL points for 21/22 against Man United alone
Tip 2: Low Value Benches:
All the time I see managers waste money on trying to get high valued players on their bench instead of investing the money into their starting XI.
I'll admit I find it hard sometimes to find the balance of spending only £100m on 15 players but with the bench get the lowest valued bench but also buy the low valued players and put them on the bench for when you go to play your bench boost chip here are a few cheap players you could look to invest on putting on the bench
- Cameron Archer (Aston Villa 4.5m)
Cameron Archer as proved in last seasons Carabao Cup and EFL Trophy that he is a serious talent and yes he wont start over Danny Ings but there is no doubt he will get plenty game time this season
- David Raya (Brentford 4.5m)
Now lets be honest David Raya should be worth more than 4.5m after last season and everyone will either go with Alisson or Ederson as their starting keepers for majority of next season but David Raya made 78 saves last season only 65 less than Illan Mesiler despite being injured for 3 month and missing 17 matches
- Andreas Periera (Fulham 4.5m)
Despite being shot out of the United by Soljskaer and sent out on loan to Lazio and Flamengo, Periera is still a decent player and is a great addition for Fulham and has the service around him from the likes of Kevin Mbabu, Tom Cairney, Harry Wilson and has Mitrovic upfront to easilly setup for goals.
- Lisandro Martinez (Man Utd 4.5m)
Man United's latest signing is surprisingly only 4.5m and although he may not start as many games due to Maguire and Varane, ETH may look at playing Martinez as a defensive midfielder and if he doesn't utilise that option Martinez will certainly be a super sub an used to make a 2nd half impact
